5 Tips to make your Healthy Resolutions Stick

Have you decided that 2018 you are going to get fit and make your health a priority?

Here is 5 tips to keep you on track and help you reach your goals. 

Tip No. 1 – Sign up to a fitness challenge. What better way to kick start the year off with than a challenge. You are motivated and it will keep you accountable. You will have that workout habit set it allowing you to continue on with your fitness journey. 

Tip No. 2 – Be organised and plan ahead. Prepping your meals ahead of time is essential to making sure you stay on track and you don’t find yourself in a situation that will force you to;

(a) eat something you know won’t bring you closer to your goals or

(b) overeat later because you are starving and for that moment in time think that there is a shortage of food. 

Tip No. 3 – Track your Progress. Hold yourself accountable by tracking your progress this could be a food journal, weekly/fortnightly weigh and measures, weekly progress photos, workout diary. There is a real sense of achievement from looking back and seeing how far you have come. 

Tip No. 4 – Reward yourself along the way. To make healthy resolutions (lifestyle changes) feel sustainable it is important be able to live your life. This means making time to go out with your family and friends and be able to eat those controlled indulgences. This is what is going to help you stay on track. 

Tip No. 5 – You are human. If you slip up, overeat, binge, miss out on your workouts don’t get upset. Be kind to yourself and get back on track ASAP – your next meal, workout the very next day. Keep your eyes on the prize.
