To truly live the life you want – you must believe in yourself, your ability and your vision.
Believing in yourself is your willingness to get up over and over again when you have failed or experienced a set back while in the pursuit of creating the life of your dreams. You don’t care how many times you fail because your vision is so strong you know that you will succeed and it’s only a matter of time before you get what it is you are after. You also look at failure differently because you don’t see it as failure, you see it as a learning experience.
Lucky for us we can develop and work on our self belief and here is a couple of tips:
Create the vision – It’s important to have a vision, write it down that way you don’t have to worry about forgetting all the details. Next you want read over, even add to it, allow it to grow. You also want to sit down and visualize your vision as if you are watching your own movie. This allows you to learn from yourself and the more you do this the more you will pick up qualities from the movie you.
Be your own motivational coach – Think of someone you really believe in and imagine if they started showing doubts, what would you say to them? Sit down and say those same positive, uplifting talk to yourself.
“Look you can do this! It’s natural to feel a little anxious but that just means you care about what you’re doing!”
Imagine a friendly, straight talking coach in your mind and talk to yourself as if you were another person. Even better try to find somewhere private and say it out aloud, say it with conviction and purpose.
Do ‘HERO’ training – Think of a situation where you lack self belief. Now think of your ‘hero’ – this hero could be a superhero, a movie star, world leader or someone you know. Close your eyes and imagine them dealing with the situation heroically. Now image being them and how they would feel for a few minutes. Keep going until you start to transfer a sense of their qualities to yourself.
Here is also a few little quotes that I find inspiring as well 🙂
“Successful people have fear, successful people have doubts, and successful people have worries. They just don’t let these feelings stop them.” –T. Harv Eker
“Inaction breeds doubt and fear. Action breeds confidence and courage. If you want to conquer fear, do not sit home and think about it. Go out and get busy.” –Dale Carnegie
