Cherry Ripe Protein Smoothie


OMG this tastes so indulgent yet it’s 100% guiltfree and super healthy for you making it an excellent post workout treat!

The health benefits:

Cacao is known as one of the most concentrated sources of magnesium found in nature. Magnesium helps to reduce tiredness and fatigue as well as help muscle and nerve function.

Cherries have high levels of antioxidants they help fight free radical damage and protect our cells. Recent research also indicates that cherries help reduce muscle damage, remove excess body fat and increase melatonin which supports a healthy sleep cycle.

The recipe:

1/2 cup of frozen cherries

1 tbs cacao powder

1 scoop chocolate protein powder

1 tsp chia seeds

250ml Almond milk

Ice

Topping:

Cacao spread drizzled over the top

shredded coconut (not shown in the photo)

Extra  fresh cherries (I topped mine whole & frozen and they sunk lol)

Instructions:

Place all the ingredients (excluding topping) into the blender and blend until smooth

Pour into glass and decorate with topping.

Enjoy!
