Upper Body Stretches to open up the chest as well as the upper back.
Open up the chest: Open up the arms wide drawing the shoulder blades together, breathe in deeply.
Bicep Stretch: Link your fingers together behind your back and press the palms into each other. Opening up the chest and drawing the shoulders back. Great for those with rounded shoulders
Child’s Pose: A relaxing stretch that you can perform to relieve tension.
Thread the needle: Great for stretching the shoulders. From all fours, reach your right arm underneath your body, allowing your temple to rest to the ground. Your left hand can stay where it is, or to intensify the stretch crawl the left hand a bit over to the right side above the head. Repeat on the other side.
Cobra Stretch: Keep the shoulders relaxed and away from your ears, abdominals pulled in to avoid tension within the lower back. Tip – feel the chest move forward as well as upwards to reduce straining the lower back.
